Propósito y liderazgo
¿Por qué se postula para este puesto y qué cualificaciones posee?
I am running for City Council because District 6 deserves a leader who is focused on solutions, not the spotlight. My entire life has been dedicated to serving others, bringing people together, and delivering real results—values that I will bring to City Hall.
My background uniquely qualifies me to serve because I have spent my career making tough decisions, balancing budgets, and advocating for families, students, and small businesses. I have served as a school board trustee, a headmaster of a private school, a business owner, and a pastor. Each of these roles has given me firsthand experience in problem-solving, financial oversight, and community leadership—the very skills needed to represent the people of District 6 effectively.
¿Cuáles son las tres prioridades principales en las que se centrará si es elegido (enumere tres como máximo)?
- Safer Neighborhoods
- Sustainable Cost of Living

Opcional: Explique cualquiera de sus respuestas anteriores.
As a school board trustee, I fought to ensure that teachers and school staff had the resources and support needed to do their jobs effectively. I’ve seen firsthand how underfunded schools and lack of investment in educators directly impact families and communities. I pushed for policies that prioritized fair wages, professional development, and a better working environment for educators and staff.
As a business owner and headmaster of a private school, I had to make tough financial decisions, but I always prioritized fair pay and supportive workplaces for employees. I understand the challenges that small business owners face in balancing budgets while still taking care of their workers.
In Crowley ISD, I led the effort to bring an 1182 partnership to our 4 middle school campuses. I painstakingly worked with district administration to identify potential, partners, work with the community to vet interested partners, and personally signed the agreement that is currently in place with Paul Quinn College. I believe that in the current state of education, we must take innovative approaches to ensure that all students reach their full potential. The 1882 partnership that exists with Paul Quinn College and the Quinnite Network is just an example of the how I’ve worked with the greater community to do what is in the best interest of the students of our city.¿Apoyará activamente políticas e iniciativas que garanticen que las escuelas de alta calidad tengan el respaldo público y político para existir, crecer y prosperar como opciones educativas para las familias de nuestra ciudad? Sí
A few of the initiatives I’ve personally led are: Championed the 1882 Partnership with Paul Quinn College, providing innovative educational solutions for middle school students. Advocated for and passed paraprofessional pay increases and introduced Hero Pay for all CISD employees. Advocated for increased school funding with the Texas Legislature to provide better resources for the more than 5.5 million students in Texas. Pushed for fairer measures of school achievement, ensuring student success is evaluated equitably. Stood in fierce opposition to the voucher program that is being pushed in our state, which takes adequate funding away from Texas public schools.¿Apoyará políticas para mejorar el acceso al transporte para los estudiantes de las escuelas autónomas, incluyendo la ampliación de los servicios de autobús y la garantía de rutas para caminar más seguras? Sí
Our campaign is focused on keeping families safe, making life more affordable, and ensuring that District 6 grows responsibly while planning for a strong future. Safer Neighborhoods mean investing in two new fire stations, improving infrastructure and street safety, and improving fire and police response times. Smart, Responsible Growth ensures that as District 6 continues to grow, development does not outpace roads, schools, and essential services. The overall message of our campaign is that we are committed to doing things differently—putting people over politics, listening before leading, making decisions that truly reflect the needs of the community and taking action to deliver real results.¿Garantizará que las familias de las escuelas autónomas tengan voz en los debates sobre políticas de la ciudad que afectan la educación, las instalaciones y los recursos de la comunidad? Sí
Real leadership isn’t about personal ambition or political games; it’s about delivering results that make life better for everyone. That means ensuring safer neighborhoods, keeping the cost of living manageable, and guiding District 6’s growth in a way that benefits everyone. With a focus on bringing people together, accountability, and community-driven solutions, I will bring a different kind of leadership to City Hall—one that is powered by the people, for the people.¿Apoya el acceso equitativo a los recursos de la ciudad para las escuelas autónomas, como permitir el acceso a edificios vacantes propiedad de la ciudad y garantizar oportunidades de financiación justas para las instalaciones y la infraestructura? Sí
I believe in principle, this would be beneficial to both the city and the educational community, however, it should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. I welcome the opportunity to discuss further and understand the perspectives of the charter school communities in the district.¿Apoyará las iniciativas de la ciudad para mejorar la seguridad del tráfico y de los peatones alrededor de las escuelas, incluyendo el control de las zonas escolares y la inversión en infraestructura como cruces peatonales y reductores de velocidad? Sí
As aforementioned, our campaign is focused on safer communities. By investing in smart, responsible growth, our streets will be safer for all district 6 residents, most importantly, the students all throughout the district. Considering the number of accidents, even pedestrians being hit, our district is in need of deep consideration for how to make our streets safer.Además del apoyo general, ¿qué medidas específicas tomará como concejal para mejorar las oportunidades educativas de todos los estudiantes, incluidos los que asisten a escuelas chárter? (Respuesta abierta)
As a public servant, my responsibility is to listen to the voices of my community and make sure they are heard. District 6 deserves leadership that listens before leading, and stays focused on real solutions that create real change. Too often, politics is about chasing the spotlight rather than delivering for families. That’s not me. My life’s work has been about bringing people together, cutting through the noise, and producing results—not for personal or political gain, but to help make lives better. As a father of two beautiful children, I understand the struggles families face—balancing budgets, keeping a roof over their heads, and ensuring their children have a safe and thriving community to grow up in.
