We are Fort Worth Families Forward.

We are parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and guardians. We are working to create a better education system for our children, no matter what it takes.

Meet Our Team

 Johamna Hernandez
Director of Organizing

Johamna is a first-generation Afro-Dominican born and raised in New York City. She started her career as a classroom teacher in Buffalo, NY. Since then, she has worked on education policy and campaigns to advance equitable education in several states (i.e., New York, Louisiana, Colorado, Arizona, and Texas).

She now calls Fort Worth home and enjoys spending time learning how to garden.

Aide Carrasco
School Organizer

Aide’s introduction to working in education came when she started at IDEA Public Schools and found herself passionate about working in partnership with families, staff, and parents. That passion led her to a career in advocacy, working to ensure leaders have education at the forefront of their agendas.

A native Fort Worthian, Aide is a proud parent of three and loves spending time with family outdoors, cooking, and organizing events for friends and family.

Juan Galindo
School Organizer

Originally from Grand Prairie, Juan’s passion for community engagement and education started while receiving a degree in Political Science at Swarthmore College.  He went on to work as a teacher at a public charter school in Fort Worth before becoming a bilingual staffer for an elected official in the area.

Juan loves discovering new locations in his community and finds working and building relationships with people of all backgrounds a rewarding experience.

Won Ha Gonzalez Senior Data Manager

Growing up, Won Ha experienced different communities and cultures thanks to his biracial background and being the son of an army veteran. He developed a curiosity and a desire to learn and help people from all walks of life. Won Ha holds Political Science and Data Analytics degrees and has experience as a college faculty member and data specialist.

Won Ha enjoys sports, including baseball and soccer, and spending quality time with his wife and daughter.

We are organizing our communities to make sure our kids have the opportunity to receive a great education.
